A Traditional Marquee is built to a classic design, and is quintessentially British. With its deeply sloping roof, a Traditional Marquee stands out as an elegant structure in which to hold parties, weddings or other functions. They lend themselves to the addition of one of our beautiful Marquee Linings or Fibre Optic Starcloth Lining.
The main poles in either wood or aluminium add extra character, and offer a great ‘foil’ for party planners to work with to create spectacular effects with flowers, lighting and other decorations.
Weatherill Brothers Ltd, specialise in the manufacture of Traditional Marquees which can be produced in Heavy Duty PVC, or Canvas. Both have their advantages. The majority of our marquees are manufactured in white PVC, we also manufacture in colours if required.
Canvas is more traditional, and being cotton it is also ecologically sound, the fabric ’breathes’ and is cooler in the summer. If you are looking for a traditional effect, canvas is perfect.
It is also relatively easy to increase the size of a Traditional Marquee, as they are constructed in ‘bays’. All of our marquees can be further enhanced by the addition of window wallings and upvc doors. The interiors can be divided into ‘rooms’, by the addition of Marquee Lining wallings.
We have developed a new generation of high tensile traditional marquees which are wind load tested to 36m/sec (80mph) - the same as frame structures making them ideally suited for semi/permanent use, in the hotel and catering industry. They are perfect for use by Marquee Hirers. As Marquee Hirers ourselves, we find Traditional Marquees are much more popular than a frame structure within this industry.
Size for size, traditional marquees are considerably less expensive than frame structures, allowing for increased profit margins, and as traditional marquees are lighter and more compact, storage is much more convenient and cost effective.
